Cameron Highlands Flora Park – Worth The High Entry Fees?

The high entry fees make many people hesitate at visiting Cameron Highlands Flora Park. After all, you can see flowers anywhere else, right?

We’ve been to our share of gardens, and we find that while it is pricey to visit, this place is big enough to spend half a day. And it is very well maintained.

Highlights

This place is not meant to be educational. But more of a social media content creator’s paradise.

We were impressed with the sheer size and layout of the park. There are several sections to explore and each with more than one photogenic corner.

The first of these that you will see after passing through the ticket barrier is the Petunia Garden which doesn’t just have petunias.

There is a small café here selling drinks, pastries, and ice cream by PUKU.

After which, you can choose to enter the other gardens – the Cameron Sakura Garden and Four Season Flower Garden. We like the scenic boardwalk at the Cameron Sakura Garden.

Or you can start making the climb up to the top of the park through the Flora Hills. This flower-studded hill is one of the main highlights of visiting this park!

Climb all the way up to check out the Views Glass House Café which is at the top of Cameron Highlands Flora Park.

Right beside the café is where you can admire their dessert scaping.

Close to The Views Glass House Café are also 2 photo stops, the Stairway to Infinity and Golden Maple Bridge.

Paid Activities

Besides the main park, Cameron Highlands Flora Park offers two types of paid experiences.

These are picnic sets that you can enjoy inside the Cameron Sakura Garden.

And for a more private experience or personal events, you can book a high tea set at the Hobbit House. Unlike the Cameron Sakura Garden, this area is not accessible to other visitors who haven’t booked a slot.

Entry Fees

As far as entry fees go,Cameron Highlands Flora Park still charges the most. It costs RM50 per pax (anyone above 12 years old) to enter this place. This is regardless of your nationality.

For kids under 12 years old, the fees are RM10 per pax.

Getting Here

If you’re driving yourself here, know that you should not drive directly up to Cameron Highlands Flora Park.

Because they have very hardy jeeps just to take visitors up to the park. It is free to use this service.

The pick-ups are quite frequent, and the pickup point is in a shared paid car park (it costs RM4 per hour to park here) behind Kea Farm Market.

Rides are bumpy but over quickly.

Things To Note

  • Because you can spend 3 hours easily at the park, you might end up paying RM12 or more for the parking fees if you choose to park at the private car park
  • Wear comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen (or bring an umbrella) as it can be very sunny at the hilly side of the park
  • You need to climb many stairs to access the very top of the park (there is a café here)
  • If you want to avoid crowds, plan to reach this place by 9am
  • Bring drinking water and a power bank – you might stay longer than you plan – there is no time limit to how long you can stay here.

Conclusion

With the closure of Rose Centre, Cameron Highlands Flora Park is the nearest flower garden to Kea Farm Market.

It is easy enough to visit since there are free pick-up services. And this attraction is very spacious too. But as with many other tourist spots, you will need good mobility to see all that this hilly place offers.

If this is not an issue for you, the RM50 per adult is justifiable if you love looking at flowers and taking photos.
