Cameron Valley Tea House 3 (And Kuala Terla Plantation)
It might have been the smallest of 3 tea houses under Bharat Sdn. Bhd. but Cameron Valley Tea House 3 can now hold its own.
The tea house now has more seating, and they’ve increased the number of jeeps and ATVs at their rental station.
That’s right, you can ride ATVs through the tea plantations here. Want to know what else you can do here? Find out in this post.
Highlights
On-Site Café
The café (or tea house) is the first thing you’ll see when you turn into the car park for this tea house.
It has outdoor seating, indoor seating, and more seating upstairs. Of these, the upstairs seating is the most appealing since you can see the tea plantation from these seats.
Orders are made at one side of the café which is next to a sizable gift shop selling various Cameron Valley Tea products. And random ceramicware and Christmas themed décor items.
We didn’t stay to eat here but assume that the menu is like what you can get at the other 2 tea houses under Bharat.
They too have local favorites like teh tarik, nasi lemak, masala tea, scones and fried food like chips and nuggets.
Jeep & ATV Rental
The rental station for the 4×4 jeeps and ATVs is to the side of the car park. The jeeps are popular with families that have small kids.
It’s a breezy and bumpy ride to the top of the tea plantation before they take you back down to the same starting point.
Short Hike For Hilltop Views
We much prefer walking to taking the jeep or ATV through the tea plantation. You can stop whenever you want to take photos.
And spend longer to take in the scenery and fresh air.
Unlike the other tea plantations, Kuala Terla tea plantation is the same level with the on-site café. You don’t need to walk down or take a buggy service to get to the tea plantation.
There are rainbow stairs that you can use to climb up to the top of a small hill. On the hill are stone benches and tables that you can sit at. We saw bins here, so they do expect visitors to bring food (just not from other places).
As short as the climb is though, we don’t recommend the climb for elderly as there are no railings and the steps are uneven.
Entry Fees
You don’t have to pay any entry fees unless you plan to enter the tea plantation to take some photos.
These cost RM4 per adult. The staff will give you a colored wristband that identifies you as a paying customer.

Things To Note
- Flies are very common throughout Cameron Highlands – the upstairs seating of this café doesn’t have as many as the ground level
- You can try your luck entering the other 2 Bharat tea plantations for free if you’ve already got the wristband for one of them. It really depends on the ticket clerk. We got into the tea plantation for Cameron Valley Tea House 2 for free (with the Cameron Valley Tea House 3 wristbands) even though the colors are different.
- Except for the car park, this place is mostly not wheelchair friendly
Conclusion
Since there are fewer crowds atCameron Valley Tea House 3. We think this is a good alternative to get a similar (and less costly) experience from the other Bharat tea plantations.
It’s scenic and breezy here with all the mature ironwood trees around the plantation.
Cameron Valley Tea House 1
You can read more about our experience at Cameron Valley Tea House 1 if you’d like to see what the difference is. There is more of a climb involved to get to the tea valley below this tea house.
Cameron Valley Tea House 2
Cameron Valley Tea House 2 is close to Cameron Valley Tea House 1. And both tea houses offer paid buggy services for those who don’t want to climb down to the valley.
Between the two, we think the food might be better at Cameron Valley Tea House 2, even though you can see more at Cameron Valley Tea House 1.
