Cameron Valley Tea House 2 – Big Tea House With Plantation Views
Can’t decide which tea plantation to visit? Cameron Valley Tea House 2 always seems to have many people any time of the day.
What is there to do here? And how does this tea house differ from others under Bharat Sdn. Bhd.?
Find out in this post!
Highlights
Tea Plantation Views
The views from this tea house are not too different from what you would see in Cameron Valley Tea House 1.
Both tea houses are just a short drive and within walking distance from each other.
We find that Tea House 2 is a lot more spacious though. There is more space on the terrace for people to look down on the tea plantation. And more balcony seats.
You can also walk down the stairs to the tea plantation from the tea house. Past the ticket booth, go down some steps and you’ll see that there are 3 gazebos overlooking the plantation. Two on the left, and one further to the right.
Some visitors walk all the way to the manmade waterfall that is closer to Tea House 1 too.
Alternatively, there is a buggy service you can take to this point.
Scones And Tea
As with the other Bharat tea houses, there is fried food (e.g., nuggets, fries, etc) and burgers on the menu. These, we have not personally tried.
But the scones are worth ordering in our opinion. The scones are sizeable, have a light buttery taste and a crumbly texture.
They come with cream (not the kind of cream you get from an aerosol can), homemade strawberry jam, and a questionable packet of margarine labelled as premium butter.
When it comes to drinks like teh tarik, they are rich in flavor but are on the sweeter end. We experience the same thing at all the other tea houses. So, we always ask for our drinks to be less sweet.
Pricing for the food is not the cheapest as this is a well-known tourist spot. Our 2 scones and 1 cup of tea cost us just under RM20.
Entry Fees
It costs RM4 per adult if you want to walk down to the tea plantation from Tea House 2.
Having explored Kuala Terla plantation earlier in the day (also under Bharat Sdn.Bhd), we managed to get into the tea plantation below Cameron Valley Tea House 2 for free by showing the ticket clerk our wristbands.
This probably doesn’t work all the time and I think we just got lucky with the staff. Plus, there was just two of us.
If you want to go for the buggy service, the counter and departure point are in the opposite direction, in a fenced off area beside the car park.
It costs RM20 per adult to get on the buggy.
Getting Here
Like Cameron Valley Tea House 1, Cameron Valley Tea House 2 is on the same side of the road.
You don’t have to drive deep into the valley to reach the tea plantation as with BOH Sungai Palas Tea Plantation. And all the Bharat tea houses are open daily whereas BOH tea plantations are closed on Mondays.
Whether you plan to just visit one or two tea plantations on the same day, Explore Camerons can help you with this through our private tours.
These are day trips that start from Ipoh. We can accommodate groups of different sizes and our itineraries are customizable.
Chat us out on WhatsApp to make a booking or inquiry.
Things To Note
- On-site gift shop sells the same wares that you can get at the other 2 tea houses
- Parking fees don’t apply here for the car park immediately in front of Tea House 2
Conclusion
For a better dining experience, we would choose Cameron Valley Tea House 2. You don’t have to wait too long to get a seat.
And they have more staff here to manage the crowd, so service is efficient. Just be prepared for a lot of cars and people.
You’ll also have to queue to order for your food. This is a popular breakfast and afternoon spot after all.
Cameron Valley Tea House 1
But if you’re keen on exploring the tea plantation below, it might be better to start from Cameron Valley Tea House 1. Especially if you plan on walking and not take the buggy service. The ATV rental station is closer to this tea house too.
Cameron Valley Tea House 3
Of the 3 tea houses under Bharat, Cameron Valley Tea House 3 is easier to explore. The section of the tea plantation that is open to visitors is smaller but no less beautiful with all the mature ironwood trees in the estate. You can also take a safari jeep or ATV through the tea plantation.
