Ee Feng Gu Bee Farm – Free Entry To This Underrated Attraction
Ee Feng Gu Bee Farm is one of the few remaining bee farms that is open to the public for visits. You can’t join any guided tours or see live bee demonstrations here though.
What can you expect from your first visit here then?
Read on and find out in this post.
Highlights
Garden
The garden below the gift shop is free to enter. It’s fairly well kept and much bigger than it looks with many interconnecting levels.
And on a clear day, you can see bee hives buzzing with activity as you walk among the flowers. They do have many different varieties of flowers here.
Attractive décor like wall murals and decorative bee hives can be seen in this garden too. There are also a few ponds.
What is a little unsightly in our opinion, are the large garish bee sculptures.
Education Section
Inside the main building, there is a small section with antique bee keeping paraphernalia and other informative displays about bees in general. Like different stages of bee growth in the hive.
Gift Shop
This is the biggest section of Ee Feng Gu Bee Farm. They sell all kinds of things. Even random water fountains.
But there are also more common souvenirs that are normally associated with the highlands. Like strawberry jam, local chocolates, and tea.
There’s also honey for sale of course including a honey tasting station in the gift shop. Along with other bee-related products like propolis.
You can buy assorted flavors of ice cream here too.
Indoor Maze
This mini attraction costs RM3 to enter. It wasn’t open during our last visit. Apparently, it’s not bad.
Basement Food Court And Shops
Underneath the building, there is a spacious basement that is host to a small food court. And many smaller shops selling vegetables, apparel, beauty products, souvenirs, snacks, etc.
The basement is directly connected to the visitor car park even though you can’t see it from the outside.
Entry Fees
No entry fees are charged to enter the garden below the gift shop.
Getting Here
Because of its roadside location, Ee Feng Gu Bee Farm is an easy stop to make if you’re spending a day in Cameron Highlands.
It’s close to the turning for BOH Sungai Palas tea plantation too.
If you want, you can include a stop here as part of your private tour with Explore Camerons. These day tours include pick up from Ipoh and transport up to Cameron Highlands* and back down to Ipoh after the tour.

Things To Note
- If you want to access the garden, do note that there will be a lot of stairs involved
- Besides the main gift shop, this is not a wheelchair-friendly place (there are no ramps or lifts)
- If it’s raining, the bees will stay in their hives
- They have their own visitor car park in front, behind and there is basement parking underneath the gift shop
Conclusion
While rundown in parts and generally outdated, Ee Feng Gu Bee Farm is free to visit. We found their garden surprisingly charming.
The gift shop is worth a quick browse but overall, we don’t consider this a must-see attraction. Unless you’re specifically looking for something in their big store. Or if you’re trying to avoid paying entrance fees.
Highlands Apiary Farm
Another alternative where you can see bees is Highlands Apiary Farm. They have a transparent beehive at the top. Plus, a small gift shop. Their garden consists mostly of potted plants. And while it is neat, it is still not wheel-chair friendly.
Green View Garden
This is another attraction that doesn’t charge entrance fees. The garden is much easier for elderly to explore and there is a paddle boat activity available for kids. They too have a sizeable gift shop that mainly sells local chocolate and novelty snacks.
