Picking Our Own Strawberries At Ladang Soon Cheong

Strawberry Farms In Cameron Highlands To Take Note Of

When it comes to strawberry farms in Cameron Highlands, there are one or two that most people head for. Many families love to bring their kids for strawberry picking during the holiday season.

But stick with us in this post and we’ll show you where else you can find strawberries (and less crowds)! This matters if you want to choice pickings!

Big Red Strawberry Farm

This is where all the big families will go because there is a huge car park and ample visitor facilities. These include an arcade section with massage chairs, and a large cafeteria.

Here, you can walk beside rows of their hydroponically grown vegetables. Or go picking at their strawberry section. There’s also a small but neat garden and a garden supply shop.

Raju’s Hill Strawberry Farm

This is another popular strawberry farm because of its location close to Kea Farm Market which is a major draw for many visitors.

Since the farm is on a hill, you can either walk or drive up. There are some car parks at the top for visitors only.

One highlight of checking out this farm is their rustic open-air café with a small kid’s playground. There’s not much else to do here except pay to pick their strawberries. They do have a couple of arcade games around as well as a gift shop beside the café counter.

Lavender Garden

You can pick strawberries at Lavender Garden too. And we think their strawberry section is interesting because it is raised up on scaffolding directly above their gardens. If you have a fear of heights, you might not want to try picking strawberries here as you can see through the scaffolding.

Besides strawberries, there are some flowers and landscaping to check out at Lavender Garden. If those don’t interest you, then we think you might want to go somewhere else if you just want to pick strawberries as the entrance fees here are quite high and don’t include strawberry picking rates (RM20 per person).

Royal Berry Strawberry Park & Café

This looks like a café from the outside, but they do have their own strawberry farm below. As long as your knees can take it, it’s fun to explore the different levels on this farm.

The on-site café is charming, very spacious, and they have decent scones!

Ladang Soon Cheong

And this is where we recommend you go if you want to pick really big strawberries. Many people pass by this farm, but they do actually have many rows of strawberries that you can see from the road.

PS: The strawberries that we picked here from our last visit were the sweetest we’ve ever tried in Cameron Highlands!

The farm also has a plant nursery out front but there is nothing else to do here other than to pick strawberries and browse their plant selection.

Highlands Apiary Farm

Since it’s out of the way from other popular attractions, not many visitors stop at Highlands Apiary Farm. They sell rear bees and sell plants here, but they too have a strawberry section that they occasionally open to visitors to self-pick their strawberries.

At the top of the property is their shop which sells homemade popsicles (very worth trying), bee products and other souvenirs.

Conclusion

Out of these strawberry farms in Cameron Highlands, we recommend Royal Berry Strawberry Park & Café for their scones and on-site café ambiance. But for picking strawberries, our favorite is Ladang Soon Cheong.

If facilities are really important to you, then we would suggest Big Red Strawberry Farm. It’s more walkable (except for the car park) than other farms in this list too. Which matters if you have elders in your group!

Brinchang Night Market

In case you didn’t get to pick yourself any strawberries, the Brinchang Night Market sells them. Don’t buy the first ones you see though and have a proper look around the market before you choose a vendor. Prices can be quite different at the front and back of the market.

When To Visit Cameron Highlands (for strawberries)

If you plan to pick strawberries at a farm in Cameron Highlands, take note of when peak season is, because that means that many families have already picked the best fruit at popular farms.
