Cameron Centrum – Popular Night & Shopping Venue For Families
Cameron Centrum is a shiny new shopping arcade in Brinchang. The outdoor shopping mall has an anchor supermarket and many chain stores too.
What can you do here and why do so many people come here at night?
Find out in this post.
Entertainment
Kids can try the small carousel or go for an electric train or mini double decker bus ride on the ground level of the mall.
There are also some arcade shops and an indoor playground (Kids Ocean or DD Children Wonderland) on the upper levels of the mall.
It cost RM20 per person, but we also saw a 5D theatre (Flying Cinema Experience) just outside the mall.
There is no cinema at this mall.
Dining Options
Several new restaurants have joined the shopping arcade since our last visit. Including a second branch of Pizzarella Miso Kimchi.
There is a Marrybrown outlet on the basement level of the mall.
On the upper floor of the mall is a branch for The Brew House too. Pepper Lunch is a promising eatery.
Coffee Shops
Take your pick of coffee shop franchises here. There is ZUS Coffee, Starbucks, and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
Tealive also has a branch at this mall.
Supermarket
Billion Supermarket is the anchor tenant of Cameron Centrum. The supermarket is at the basement of the shopping arcade which is accessible with lifts or escalator.
There is a department store section as well as a separate alcohol corner inside this modern supermarket too.
Ice Cream
PUKU Ice Cream has a stall on the ground level of Cameron Centrum. There is also a Baskin-Robbins outlet at the other end of the mall.
Rollney is another ice cream boutique at this mall. There is llaollao too.
Mini Marts
If you want more snack options besides the supermarket, there is Snack Planet, Family Mart, 7Eleven and CU Mart.
The food stall just outside the mall (firefryz) has deep fried snacks like fried potatoes if you want something piping hot.
Pharmacies
Both local pharmacy brands, Guardian and Watsons are available at this mall.
We also saw a clinic (Poliklinik Brinchang) that advertised minor surgeries too, but it wasn’t open in the evening.
Getting Here
Cameron Highlands doesn’t have many shopping options. There are just the local markets and Cameron Centrum.
With Cameron Centrum around, Cameron Square (near Nova Highlands Hotel) has lost much of its initial lustre.
If you want to visit Cameron Centrum as part of a day tour with Explore Camerons, this is possible and even recommended if you are planning to stay overnight in Cameron Highlands.
For those living in the tropics especially, wandering an outdoor mall in the cool evening breeze is a unique and refreshing experience.
Please note that our tours are strictly private – we don’t cater to mixed group tours. The tours start from Ipoh too.

Things To Note
- Basement parking costs RM1 for the first hour.
- Toilets are small and not clean by the end of the day
- There are banks at this mall (e.g., Western Union, Public Bank) though they are only open in the daytime.
- If you somehow need to change your spectacles, there are optical shops at this mall
Conclusion
Because there aren’t many family-friendly attractions open after 7pm, Cameron Centrum has become the place for many to hang out after dinner.
There is ample space for strolling and window-shopping, and there are some rides for children too. Furthermore, the shopping arcade looks very nice when the lights are on, and it is very breezy in the evening.
Brinchang Night Market
On weekends, Brinchang Night Market is another crowd-favorite for shopping and takeaway dining options. The night market has all sorts of food, snacks, and local produce for sale. And it is where you can also buy live plants or warmer clothes if you want.
