O&R Garden – Suitable Attraction For Family Outings
You might not picture a flower garden next to a mall but that is what O&R Garden (previously Orchid And Rose Garden) is.
Entry fees are very reasonable compared to other new attractions.
So, what can you see here besides flowers?
Highlights
Flowers
Despite the name, they do have more than just orchids and roses here. You can see pitcher plants, dahlia, bird of paradise, hydrangea, hibiscus of assorted colors, etc.
Some parts of the garden need better maintenance but there are still a lot of pretty corners to take photos.
They have a lot of colorful photo props like colorful windmills, an old truck, a giant pitcher plant sculpture and others scattered throughout the garden.
Animals
They might have many different animals to see here – koi, guinea pigs, wild fowl, ducks, rabbits, and goats.
We get that they are trying to offer visitors more money for value by including a mini zoo.
But this is biggest disadvantage of visiting this place, in our opinion. The animal enclosures are not suitable for their occupants and some of them don’t look very well.
Vegetables
They do have large vegetable patches behind the garden, and you can see these if you’re looking for the starting point for the next item on this list.
Mini Jungle Walk
This part of the park is called the Adventure Trail, and it is a quick hike that takes you up partway up the hill. No killer views here but you might see some moss.
And it’s a nice little workout to get the blood pumping.
Entry Fees
For adults, it costs RM16 to enter. While entry fees for kids cost RM6.
They open at night on weekends (Secret Night Garden), but the entry fees are a little bit higher for adults (RM20 vs RM16) although kids get to go in for free.
If you plan to feed the animals here, you can purchase feed from the ticket counter.
Getting Here
If you’re familiar with Nova hotel or Nova Square in Cameron Highlands, this garden is walking distance from these places.

Things To Note
- For an additional charge, the on-site photographer can help you take photos during your visit here
- Except for the initial sloping road that you need to walk to get to the park, it is a relatively level place to explore with many benches too
- Park is well sheltered from rain
- Lack of educational labels for the plants
- On site café is closed on Tuesdays
- No issues with overcrowding here
- There is a small shop near the exit where they sell plants
Conclusion
If not for the pitiful state of the animals in their mini zoo section, O&R Garden is a very attractive alternative to spending double or more the entry fees to visit other places such as Lavender Garden.
Rose Valley
In comparison, the much older Rose Valley charges half the price, but their layout is quite messy. And some parts are very steep and worn down.
Agro Technology Park MARDI Cameron Highlands
There are also roses at Agro Technology Park MARDI CH. The roses are not in the best shape, but if you walk around the middle section of the park, you will see many different colors of roses.
