Tanah Rata Coronation Park – Great For A Stroll
Where do you go when you’ve had enough of farm and cafe visits? Or you don’t want to spend money on entrance fees? We recommend the public park in Tanah Rata.
Tanah Rata Coronation Park is not only peaceful and scenic, but spacious. It’s easy to find parking here too! See what you can do here in this post!
Getting Here
If you don’t have your own transport and want to get to Cameron Highlands (and this park) from Ipoh, book our private tour service.
These tours include transportation fees, and there will be an experienced guide (or driver if you prefer) to help you make the most of your time in Cameron Highlands!
Highlights Of The Park
Children’s Playground
At this park is a fun children’s playground here including many swing sets (that adults can use too). Not far from the playground is a little mart that rents out children’s bikes and scooters too.
Besides the playground, there are plenty of benches to relax on. We found a little book nook by the circular bench close to the entrance of the park.
Clocktower
A clocktower that also indicates the current temperature is a major feature of this park. Many like to take photos of it.
The park has undergone recent upgrades and new flower bushes have been planted – they still need some time to grow but the park is looking great.
Field Track
Next to the children’s playground are mature trees and a stream with a bridge over it. Cross this bridge, and you’ll find yourself in a big field with a jogging track (tar road) around it. This field is popular with locals getting in their daily exercise.
More trees and another stream are on one side of this field, and there’s a school on the other side. Concrete tunnels by the side of stream provide temporary shelter if it rains. There are also many stone benches along the bank of the stream.
We saw tandem bikes for rent but couldn’t rent them out using the app since our phones were not getting a strong signal here.
Picnic Spots
Directly across the park and overlooking it is the public library. On this small hillside, there are picnic areas including a gazebo.
Giant fruit close by make for a cheesy photo stop but also something for kids with extra energy to climb on.
Conclusion
Stop by the Tanah Rata Coronation Park if you have some free time to spare and don’t want to have to pay anymore entrance fees!
The cool temperatures make strolling in this sizeable park a very pleasant experience. With so much space to run, we think kids will especially have a great time here!
Agro Technology Park MARDI Cameron Highlands
Tanah Rata Coronation Park is on the way to Agro Technology Park MARDI Cameron Highlands. This attraction has one of the lowest entrance fees in Cameron Highlands. But it’s not one of our favorite places to visit since maintenance could be better.
Green View Gardens
For another entry-free place to visit, we recommend the family-friendly Green View Gardens. Not only are there spacious seating areas and an onsite café, but there are paddle boats and some animals to see!
